Spark 3

This week's topic >> Your own peaceful death. Not in a bed.

I imagine the thought must cross everyone’s mind at some point, you know…the thought of your own death. That eminent moment on a remote distant future (at least we hope that it is) when our bodily, physical existence will cease. And I say our bodily, physical existence because I believe the soul lives on.

As we all know just by watching the news, that for some people this moment may come too soon, too late, or too violently. Yet for others it’ll come not a moment too soon. I ask myself, is it possible for death to be a festive affair? Is it possible to contemplate death as a joyous, momentous occasion? Is it possible for one to experience a sense euphoria or exhilaration at the thought of death? Sure the topic may be morbid in nature and it may even stir up unsettling feelings, yet it is no less authentic than one’s birth.

While I cannot bring myself to write my ‘own peaceful death’ I do wonder…you know, about the gleaming light. I wonder if that gleaming light we’ve all seen in movies and read in books; is it as enthralling as it’s portrayed?

  1. I've wonder about my death before too. I truly think death is only the beginning. This is a transitional phase for humans. A phase in our existence where we can make mistakes, take wrong turns, and fail to overcome obstacles, so that when we move into the next phase of our existence, we are ready.

People always say "hey, we're human, no one is perfect." Well, I think that completely true, humans aren't perfect, but I do believe we are training our souls to be 'perfect' for the next phase.

Calgon...take me away!

Family/Friends, I understand now why some companies/celebreties hire people to tend to their Social Media networking, it is very time consuming, not to mention mentally exhausting. Point in case, just today I spent over an hour on Blogger and YouTube working out some kinks with my profile/settings. My head's spinning and I'm pooped. On the topic of Social Media, I'd like to take a moment to thank my daughter, Pamela for acting as a consultant on the topic. Pamela works in the field and has actually helped launch my first AdWords campaign. Although it is progressing slowly, I have seen an increase in site ( www.mywritingden.net ) traffic and Twitter - 10 new followers in a week. I've also been receiving sporadic emails from 'fans' telling me how much they enjoy my stories...so this keeps me going. Ohhh, and a VERY notable mention to Linus Ly who gave me the idea to use a 'new' slogan Erotica, She Wrote . Liked it so much I'm already using it. T...

A Long Weekend Ahead :-)

Family/Friends: For many Americans this is the first big holiday since New Year's (not many people get Civil Rights or even President's Day off for that matter), so I hope you have fun plans and enjoy the time outdoors with  family and friends. A quick update about my writing, I have received feedback from three publishers and although all of it has been positive it will require me to revise 75% of my work (each story  is >6K words), needless to say the task at hand is somewhat dauting.  I have, however, taken a couple of days just to think about the best approach and plan on implementing some of my ideas this weekend.  To those of you who keep up with me (Twitter, FB, this blog, etc.) I truly appreciate it.  You keep my spirits up when the 'doubt bug' creeps in. Take care and 'til next time! Maria
