Thank you!

Family/Friends:

Establishing new habits this week, this blog in particular >>> need to blog more often :-D  So, here I am sitting in front of my computer rattling my brain to come up with something witty, intellectual to say, but the more I think about it, the more it occurs to me that what I write doesn't always have to be funny, and remarkable, it just to be from the heart, so here it goes:

Thank you to:
My husband who's very supportive of my writing, wherever it may take me.
My daughter who's my friend and cheerleader oh and tech support of course.
My sister Alice who sent me a congratulatory text and supports my writing.
My sister Cheryl whose keen interest in my writing early on encouraged me to keep putting my thoughts on paper.
My sister Lucy, who has read one of my steamiest stories and provided good feedback - Lucy and I share the same passion for writing so her input is invaluable.
Charisse who's a dear friend and a cheerleader.
Amy who's offered to edit the story that'll be submitting to Secret Cravings Publishing.
Sharon who's my sounding board for my new endeavor as a Social Media Coordinator for PWC

Without the help of those mentioned above it would be extremely difficult for me to remain as positive and committed to my writing as I am today, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

Until next time folks...be well!

Maria

  1. Good update, Maria. I think that's what blogs are supposed to be. Just whatever you have in your head, of course nothing too personal that you don't want the world to know.

  2. Hi Linus - you're gonna laugh, but this is the first time I noticed that anyone has left a comment on my blog...I kept thinking I was talking to an empty room :-)

Sorry that I hadn't replied earlier, but now you know WHY! I feel like a dork.

Take care and thanks for keeping up with me.

Writing is HARD work. There I said it!

Recently, I had a conversation with a fellow writer about different writing styles. We talked about how some writers can simply sit down on a computer and write on command; I cannot. My pre-writing process can take me ten, fifteen, twenty minutes or more and it usually involves me ‘getting in to character’; I need to connect with the hero and heroine before I can delve into their lives. It is then when I’m emotionally attached that ideas begin to form I’m able to capture the thoughts and the scenes and the story begins to unfold. I can tell you that when I begin to write a story, I too experience the same nervousness that a lot of writers feel. Will anyone read my stuff? Will anyone care about what I have to say? This is the fretful process of a writer, yet, we, I, push forward and write with excitement, optimism, and a lot of discipline. On an amusing note (or maybe not so) one thing that we, writers, often encounter is that non-writers tend to think that writing is easy.
